More Halloween Goodness!

I have to admit, that Halloween is one of my most favorite holidays.  I think maybe it is the "kick off" to all the holidays to come. Or the change of season....or the fact that for one day, even mature adults can act like kids!  (I'm going with the latter! ; )
I've created a couple of treat containers for my fellow 5th grade teachers....my partners in crime.  ; )  I will be out looking for candy to fill them with.
The cupcakes were cut using my Silhouette machine.  I used these cute Halloween papers from Paper Loft.
I added a cute furry spider, ribbon, and stick pins I created using alphabet beads.  And of course.....glitter!
For those of you who live in the Chicago Land area, the story of "Changing the Face of Beauty" with Cortney and I will air this Sunday at 8 AM on Channel 7.
I have everyone's costumes lined up....even the dogs! HA! So expect some pics of the family...and the furry family members on Monday! ; )

Have a great weekend my friends!

EEK!

Can you believe that Halloween is next week already?  I have mine and Cort's costume ready, and Kyle just informed me that he is dressing as a wizard for a Halloween party he was invited to.  So  me thinks we will be heading to the store this weekend for a wizarding costume!  ; )

I have a Halloween card that I created using my Silhouette.  I created a backdrop to the tree  using acetate and alcohol inks. I added the moon to the top and a bit of crystal effects for added dimension.
I tied some rustic twine, a button, and an eek brad to finish it off.
It was a fast easy card to make, and I love the acetate window....the alcohol inks just added a bit something....
I am excited to announce that Cort has her first modeling job this weekend.  It is for a Chicago designer!  I will share more after her photo shoot!

Five Days of Christmas with JustRite and Petaloo!

Before I start my crafty post today, I just wanted to thank you for all of your kinds words regarding Cortney.   Your e-mails, comments here on the blog, Facebook comments warmed my heart so much! I am so glad I am able to share my life with all of you.....so thank you!

JustRite Papercraft has teamed up with Petaloo for a 5 days of Christmas celebration!  (You know Christmas is right around the corner! Hence the Christmas Target commercials......already!)
I was browsing the Internet (like I so often do!) and came across a download for birch paper by Martha Stewart.  I thought it was kind of neat and something I could use down the road.  I covered toilet paper tubes with it.  I thought I could fill the centers with tissue paper wrapped candy. Wouldn't they make cute table favors?
I used JustRite's O'Christmas Tree set.  I stamped them in green and red.  I tied the tubes with a bit of burlap and rustic twine.  I added some Petaloo flowers to the top, filled them with candy, and voila! Easy table favors!
I also tucked some glittered jingle bells under those beautiful  flowers.

Be sure to stop by Marisa's blog today for her beautiful Christmas project, and of course the JustRite blog!
The designers will be sharing projects all week! : )
Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by!
