JustRite's Day 4 of New Releases!

Could it possibly be Friday again?! Where in the world did this week go? Now that summer vacation has started I really need these days to slow down a bit! ; )

I have another JustRite release to share with you today! Today's stamp is a Paris Background stamp.  Even though I may never have the opportunity to see Paris in person, I have a little love affair with it. There is something so romantic and mysterious about it. So for now, I will have to admire from afar!

I finally broke down and purchased the new Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  I absolutely love them! (Said in my best sing songy voice!) This was my first attempt at using them.  I stamped the image with Versamark and embossed it in black on watercolor paper.  I gave parts of the image color with the markers and used my waterbrush pen to soften it a bit.  There is a bit of a learning curve with them, but I can tell already that I am going to use them a lot!  I stamped the sentiment in Winter Wisteria by Papertrey Ink.  It is part of the Large Fancy Sentiment's set.
I added a Prima flower, twine, suede leaves, and tulle to dress it up.  The leaves and tulle were purchased from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply store.

I have another busy weekend ahead of me, filled with birthday and graduation parties.  But tonight I am playing in a couple's golf outing.  It is hilarious because I don't golf!  My husband has had me in "training" the last 2 weeks.  We've been hitting buckets of balls, while he critiques every shot.....no pressure there! ; ) So hopefully tonight I don't completely embarrass myself!  For you golfers out there, he tells me it's a Scramble and the tees are moved up.  It is supposed to be fun....not competitive.  (Thank goodness!)
So wish me luck!
Have a wonderful weekend my friends!

JustRite's New Release-Day 3!

Good morning! Today is JustRite's 3rd day of new releases! Their new set, Christmas Vintage Labels One,  Is beautiful and has an old fashioned quality to it.  I decided to  use one element from the set.  The snowflake.  I wanted to create my own designer paper with it.  The card itself was cut with my Cricut and the Sweater Weather cartridge.  I lined the curved part with pink paper, glued it on the inside flap and trimmed it with pinking shears.  I stamped the snowflake in Aqua Mist by Papertrey Ink.  I filled the centers with glossy accents and sprinkled it with glitter.  I used two snowflake dies.  The larger one is an old Sizzix die I had in my stash, and the smaller one is by Spellbinders.  Both were inked, glossy accented (is that even a word??), and sprinkled with glitter. I tied my jingle bells to the center with a bit of twine
The silk ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply store. I added a few rhinestones under the sentiment.

I did create another card using this set in a more traditional way....I will post that next week! : )
Be sure to check out the other designer's blogs for inspiration using this new set!

Yesterday was my first day off, and I was so happy to get caught up on some things in my house that had been sorely neglected.  For the last two weeks, I had this mind set that when something needed to be done, I'd say, "I'm off in two weeks, I'll do it then...."  Well let me tell ya, after two weeks of that nonsense, the chores had piled up! ; )  So I am happy to report that my laundry is almost caught up, the bathrooms are sparkling, the floors vacuumed, the kitchen surfaces picked up, and my craft room actually has counterspace showing!!! Yay Me!!!
Hoping you have a productive and happy day!!!

Snowfall in June?

Nothing like having a beachy themed LO on monday, and a snowy card today! I guess that kind of fits with living in Chicago, where the temps can fluctuate from 98 degrees one day to 54 the next! ; )
JustRite is releasing their new sets this week and this one called, Snowfall, is beautiful.  I decided to use a sort of "Spotlighting" technique on it.  I stamped it with Versamark and white embossing powder, but then also stamped it with pink, blue, and purple die inks.  I used 2 sizes of circle punch to punch several circles and layer them over the white background.  I think it makes for a neat effect!
The flowers and felt "leaves" are by Prima.  I coated the leaves with Stickles to give it a bit of sparkle. I also  added a bit seam binding tied with a thin white string. The sentiment is part of the Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments.  I absolutely LOVE the font used in this set!
I added a few pearls too. : )

Here is a  peek at the two sets!

Be sure to visit the other gals and see what they've created with these beautiful sets!

I am off to get caught up on a lot of things that were left neglected in my house.....it IS the first day of summer vacation! ; )
Have a great day!!!

Summer Vacation

Good morning to you all! I am in the home stretch until summer vacation! Just two more days! I am so looking forward to the slower paced summer days. No schedules, no running around like chickens, no homework.......

Last year my family and I went to Jamaica and loved these pictures of Kyle. I decided to scrap 'em using my Cricut and the Life's a Beach Cartridge. I added a few special touches to my LO....like brown flock to the coconuts....googly eyes...glitter....a bit of Copic marker to add depth....and popped up elements.

Makes ya want an umbrella drink, doesn't it? ; )

I have a special album just for my Jamaica trip....and this was placed in there.
I hope you enjoy your Monday!  Thank you for stopping by!
