Merry And Bright!

Good morning! It is the second day of crazy rain and storms here! I am trying to keep my basement dry as others around me are sustaining all kinds of flood damage. On a positive note, today is my last day of school! I am so excited to be home for the summer, hang out with my kids, find a bit more crafting time, and not adhere to a rigid schedule. So how appropriate of me to show you another Christmas set right? ; ) This is another beauty by JustRite and it is called, Merry and Bright. LOVE the ornaments in this set!
I apologize in advance for my lousy photograph. It has been gloomy and gray here, and it has been a bit difficult to get decent pictures! I decided to go totally nontraditional colors for this card. I colored the ornament with my Copic markers cut out the layers and added crackle accents to give it an aged feel. (I am currently addicted to this stuff!) While it was still wet I added teeny pearls to dress it up.
I added some glittery goodness, seam binding, and a button tied with twine to dress up the top of my ornament.
You can see the effects of the crackle accents better in this photo. I love the way it looks!

Kyle is officially a high school freshman.......he graduated last night and I couldn't be prouder of my guy! I will have photos later this week.....once I get them edited!

Have a wonderful weekend! And if you feel any love in your heart......please leave a comment! Yesterday I was feeling a bit unloved......only 1 comment alllllllllll day! I am pathetic I know! ; )

JustRite's Christmas Mini Sentiments

Good morning! I haven't slept much due to the fact that some nasty storms rolled in last night. It was a crazy amount of lightning, thunder, and buckets and buckets of rain. I don't like storms. Not one little bit. I am a nervous Nelly! So I am typing this with a bit of sleepiness on the brain! ; ) It is Day three of JustRite's newest releases. Today's set is all about sentiments. I love this Christmas Mini Sentiment's set because it is fabulous to use with other sets and projects!

I created this little treat box using my Cricut and the cartridge called, Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More! This is the pie box and it was cut at 5". I trimmed the top of the box with vintage lace and gave the top a generous coating of glossy accents and course clear glitter. I cut the tree from the Winter Frolic cartridge at 3.5". I inked the edges of the tree, added glossy accents, and also added glitter to it. The sentiment was stamped using Papertrey's Raspberry Fizz ink and cut out using a Spellbinder's die from the Happy Everything tag set. I inked the edges and attached it to my tree. I added a small piece of doily, a rhinestone, and some twine. I wrapped the whole box with some seam binding, and added painted and glittered chipboard swirl to tuck behind the tree.

JustRite's You Are My Anchor!

Good morning to you! It is a beautiful sunny morning.......but unfortunately, the temperatures are supposed to climb near 100 today. We have no air conditioning in the class rooms.....so needless to say, it gets a bit uncomfortable with 24 other little bodies in the room!

JustRite's Day Two of new releases is showing off this fun, nautical set, called You are My Anchor! Immediately, I thought it would be great for masculine cards....but if you visit the other designers, some of them have made beautiful feminine cards as well!
For my card I created a boat shaped card using my Gypsy to weld the image together, the Boys Will be Boys cartridge, and my Cricut machine. The boat was cut at 5". I used all the layers functions with some Graphic 45 papers. I used a bit of vintage lace to add a some texture.
For my sentiment, I stamped it in black. The rope and anchor were colored with Copic markers. I cut the sentiment out using two Spellbinder's circle dies. The top layer was hand cut and placed on dimensional foam squares to add depth. I added crackle accents to the anchor to give it a distressed aged look.
I hung the anchor from a bit of Papertrey Twine, tied a bow, and placed a gold pearl in the center. I added tiny gold pearls to the flag as well.

New Release by JustRite.....Peace on Earth!

Good morning and happy Tuesday to you! For the next few days we are going to be celebrating a bit of Christmas around here! JustRite has come out with some fabulous new Christmas sets and you know it is never too early to start making those cards! (Even if it is 90 degrees and sweltering outside! LOL!)

The first set I have to show you is the Peace on Earth set. I love the sentiments and the font of this set! And better yet? The interior images on the oval centers are designed to be compatible with Spellbinders Nestibilities -Labels Six, Labels Ten, Labels Fourteen and Labels Eighteen. This is the first JustRite Oval set that has been designed to be compatible with dies that are not oval in shape. Awesome!

My card uses one of my favorite color combos......cream, pink, green, with a touch of red! I stamped it with Papertrey's avocado ink and colored the leaves with Copic markers to add depth. The frame is by Tattered Angels. I inked the edges in a dark brown ink, added glossy accents, and sprinkled Martha Stewart's course glitter over it. I added a doily, some SU! lace, and a Teresa Collin's stick pin.
The holly berries were actually white pearls that I colored red with my Copic markers! Such a cool way to change the colors to your liking!

Be sure to stop by the other talented designer's blogs to see their fabulous projects! : )
