Jamaica.......*sigh*......

Good morning to you! I finally was able to manage a scrapbook page about our character breakfast in Jamaica this past spring. It already feels like an eternity ago that we went. The characters there were fabulous! They danced, entertained, and made sure to spend a lot of time with each child......especially Cortney. I know Sesame Street is really not age appropriate for a girl of 16, but I also couldn't deny her the chance to meet the characters she has grown up with and still loves. Even my really "cool" 14 year old thought it a wee bit fun! ; ) I used the Sesame Street Font cartridge as well as the Sesame Street Friends cartridge and cut the characters at 3" using all of the layers and shadow function. I inked the edges and even added glossy accents to Cookie's cookie! The sun was cut at 6". The journaling was printed on kraft cardstock and made to look like it is part of the sand!
The palm tree was cut using the Birthday Cakes cartridge and my Gypsy. I wanted to elongate the palm tree to fit my page without being too wide. It was cut at 5.43 x 9.46". I added a bit of brown flock to the coconuts and used my black Copic marker to add the three dots.
The star fish were cut at 1" and 1 2/2". They were creased, inked, a bit of glossy accents added, and some real sand sprinkled on top.
Today is our field day at school......which truly marks the end of the year and is always a fun day with the kids!

Tomorrow I will be visiting with my Gram....it is her 91st birthday.......and Sunday I have my girlfriend's son's christening. So a busy weekend ahead for me!

Have a wonderful weekend! I soooooo appreciate your visits here!!!

One Last Anniversary Post!

As you know I celebrated my anniversary this past weekend, and over the years, Brian has come to expect a homemade card. I simply can not go to Hallmark anymore......it is just unacceptable! ; ) So in the midst of my DT assignments, I decided to make him a card. I found this pretty Crafty Secret's image. It is part of the Creative Scraps collection called Love Mail. I framed it using a Lacy frame from Spellbinders. I airbrushed it a bit and added pearls to the corners. I added a Jenni Bowlin felt butterfly, some seam binding, and a stick pin to finish it off.
Of course my husband told me the card was a bit "girly" for him.......yea.....maybe he's right! Too much pink? Glitter? ; )
He did however, appreciate the sentiment.......which I did indeed mean.........

The sun is shining and the temperatures are finally summer like! OH! and only 8 days left of school!!! IT doesn't get much better than this! Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!!

I Was Made for You....

Good morning! Today is my 18th wedding anniversary. 18 years ago I married my best friend, my soul mate. The day we were married, our priest gave us a photo of Jesus laughing, and his advice to us, was to always.....always laugh. I can honestly say that in my house, we laugh a lot. And believe me, we've had our share of rough patches......it certainly isn't all butterflies and rainbows! We have gone through job loss, the birth of a handicapped child, money issues, family issues, and currently, raising two teenagers......need I say more? ; ) But, I love this man and am so glad that we've gone through these trying times together.......I am blessed........

There is a song by Sara Ramirez that sums up my feelings for my guy........
Have a wonderful holiday weekend my friends!!! Thanks so much for stopping by!
