Friends Forever....

Good morning and happy Friday to you! It has been a long and busy week......and very, very cold here in Chicago! That part just makes the days seem dreary and long. I am so ready for spring it's ridiculous! I have a spring like creation to share with you today. I had created it for a sketch call at PaperCrafts magazine, but it wasn't picked up. So instead I will share it here. I used JustRite's Happy Everything Mini Tag kit, for the sentiment. I love the fact that Spellbinders has teamed up with JustRite to create dies that work perfectly with their stamps! : ) I also used the Fancy Frames Cling set. This set works great with Labels 14 Spellbinder's dies! I stamped and die cut the frame twice and popped the center up with foam squares. The butterfly is also a Spellbinder's die, that I inked and glittered.
The paper is by Girl's Paperie and the ribbon by Papertrey Ink. The Scalloped Edge Frame is by Spellbinders too. (I guess I used lots of their products on my card! ; )
I used a few Maya Road stick pins for antennae to finish my butterfly!
I have a busy, busy weekend ahead...........so what else is new? ; ) Dinner with the hubby tonight for Valentine's Day.......basketball games for Cort, dinner with my Dad, and maybe, just maybe a quiet crafty kind of Sunday.....if I am lucky!
What are you up to? Anything fun? Crafty?
Have a great weekend whatever you do!

Baby.....

Good morning! Seems like lately everyone around me is having babies! So I have had the need to make a few of these types of cards. I created today's card with Kate's ABC's cartridge. By far this has to be one of my favorites! The images are so sweet! I adore these baby shoes! I used Melissa Frances paper and cut it at 3". I used the layering and shadowing functions as well. The flowers were cut multiple times, glittered, and stacked. A pearl was added to their centers. The tag was cut using the Sentimentals cartridge. The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. I made some of my own dyed seam binding and tied it at the top. I did a bit of machine stitching to hold the vellum in place. A paper doily seemed the perfect touch to tie it all together. ...........baby shoes..........swoon!
I am off to a play with my 5th grade students on the Underground Railroad, and then I am taking a math workshop after school today. So another busy day! But it's all good!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and paying me a visit! They are so appreciated!!!

The Cutest Dorothy!

Good morning and happy Monday to you! I am a bit sluggish this morning because I was up until 12:30 AM and up this morning at 5:30 AM. After watching the Superbowl, then Glee, I had this burst of creative energy. I had this idea for a card and had to get the card made last night before I went to bed! Does that every happen to anyone else? Anyway, what I have to share with you today is not what I made last night.....that will be posted at a later date! ; ) What I do have is a LO of Cortney this past Halloween. She was a cute, modern Dorothy! I used Crafty Secret's new Wizard of Oz stamps. I colored the Tin Man and the Scarecrow with Copics. I used a Sepia colored glossy Accents over it. Which I thought was supposed to give it a brown tinge......but I think instead it gave it a pink tinge. But it worked anyway, since I had lots of pink running through this LO. The frame was also glittered in red.
And of course the ruby red slippers had to be glittered. The inside of the shoe was colored with Copics. Tiny rhinestones were added for extra bling!
The title was done with my Cricut and the Kate's ABC's Cartridge. The banner was stamped using Crafty Secret's Artsy Banner's set.
I love using foam squares to give my LO's some dimension!
I am headed to school this morning......with a very large coffee in hand! Hope I don't fall asleep at my desk! ; ) (This darn hobby!) LOL!
Have a great day!!!
