My Girly Princess Crown and Some Pics!

Good morning to you! And HAPPY WEEKEND! I told you about a week ago that I had created a girly version of THIS crown. It uses the Cutting Cafe's Crown Template. I used October Afternoon and Papertrey Ink paper. The sentiment is part of the Crown Template set. I cut it out using my circle Spellbinders's die. The tag is also from Spellbinders. I used a little bit of glitter here....... : )

I love how it opens at the top.....it doesn't give you tons of room inside to write, but enough for a young girl who is just turning 8!
Here are a few pics from our Michigan trip last weekend! This first pic is of Kyle skiing. He is a regular pro now! I love watching him zip around the lake!
...............and this is what your hair will look like after zipping around the lake! LOL!

This is my girl and I tubing. If only you knew how hard it is for this girl to keep her head up....her body upright and erect.......this picture would make her physical therapist proud!

And I love this picture of Kyle with his two younger cousins fishing. So sweet.

I am off to see Kyle play a "Card" in the play, "Alice in Wonderland" this afternoon. Tonight Brian and I are going to the White Sox game! It will be so fun to have a "date" with my hubby and root the Sox on!
Have a FABULOUS weekend!!!

Kewpies!

Geez, yesterday was a bit of a rough one for me! My mom, Cortney, and I headed out to Shriner's Hospital to get Cort's new leg braces fitted and my air decided to go out in my van! And on one of the hottest days of the year! We were sweating our butts off! And if you visit me frequently, you know that my van has given me nothing but grief. Add this to the very long list of problems I've had with this van! VERY frustrating! So this morning, I am having it looked at and am keeping my fingers crossed that it is a minor problem.......

On to my card! What better to brighten my day than these cutie pie Kewpies! Love 'em! They are from Crafty Secret's Journal booklet. I paired it up with some Papertrey Ink and October Afternoon paper. I Cuttlebugged and distressed a bit. I also paired it up with a pretty Tessa Ann clay button and some scrunched seam binding. (Which I dyed myself! A Tutorial will be coming soon.....super easy peasy!) Think Glimmer Mist meets Coffee Grounds! : )

So that's all I've got for you today........a van in need of repairs and a Kewpie card! LOL!
Have a fabulous Thursday!

My New Freedom....

This week's challenge over at the Noel Mignon Blog is to scrap about a time when you have felt a certain type of freedom. Every DT member took a different approach and it was interesting to see the individual topics chosen. Mine was about the fact that now that my children are older, it does allow me a certain amount of freedom. No longer are the days of chasing a busy toddler, or taking care of a crying infant. Not that I don't miss those days, because believe me, I do. But there is something to be said about this age. Yes, the problems they possess are a bit bigger then when they are 3 or 4, yes, they still need guidance (lots of it!), attention, and support......but I don't have to worry about my little one getting into a forbidden cabinet, climbing something too tall, ingesting something they shouldn't......etc.

This means time for me. Time to indulge in this hobby that I so enjoy. Time to recharge my batteries............and I am rather enjoying this new found freedom!! : )

LO uses Noel Mignon's Sun-Kissed Kit. (Sold out!) But head on over to the MB to get a sneaky peeky at her newest kit called Office Party! It goes up for sale on July 15th!!!

***************************************************************************
Off to Shriner's Hospital again today......for Cort's fitting of her new leg braces. (AFO's). As always, it is pretty much an all day event since it is an hour or so from the house. (OK...maybe freedom is a bit limited today! LOL)

Thanks for stopping by! I love reading your comments and truly it does make my day! : )

Happy Hour!

Good morning to you!!! I had a great weekend! It was nice getting away for a bit with no crafting, no computers, and just spending time with my kids and extended family. Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in this hobby, that I hate to say it, other things get neglected from time to time. It was good to get some perspective on what is really important!

Anyway, I have a card I created awhile ago for the JustRite catalog, but it didn't quite make it in there, so I figured I'd share it here. It uses the 2 inch Girl Time Borders and Center's set. I used Spellbinder's Small circles, Martha Stewart Paper, Papertrey in white, and SU! in black. The drinks were colored with Copics and Crystal Effects was added to them to give them a shine. The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and sprinkled with SU! white embossing powder.

I did a add a teeny black brad to the clock hands and cut out the drink and popped it up on pop dots.
I am off to tutor this morning while Cort is at school and Kyle is at Drama......then it is back in the pool we go!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will try and come visit you today too! : )
