A Little Papertrey and Enabler Alert!

Good morning and happy Friday to you!!! I have a card to share with you today using the car from Papertrey Ink. I love the stamp/die combos from them! I created a round, scalloped card using my Spellbinder's Nestibilities. I cut various circles to add layers to the card. The white filigreed looking thing behind my yellow circle if from Martha Stewart. They are sold in a pack of 12 or something and I love 'em! I wanted it to look like rays of sunshine behind my car. I added Crystal Effects to the windshield and pearls to the headlights. The sunshine ribbon is ancient.....literally.....it is probably 10 years old and I've had it in my stash forever!

I also have a sneaky peeky at Noel Mignon's newest kit called Sun-Kissed! It is ready for purchase on June 5th! I feel like I should be sitting pool side with the Cabana boy and a Mai Tai! LOVE the bright summery colors of this kit!
Well, tomorrow is my 17th wedding anniversary......and Brian has a surprise "date" night in store for me. He is such a good planner that way! I can't wait to spend some alone time with him and see what he has up his sleeve! The rest of the weekend, we are going to BBQ and swim with the kiddos! Our pool is all ready for fun!!!
What are your plans this Memorial weekend? Anything exciting? Or just hanging out with the family? Whatever you do.....hope you have a GREAT weekend!!!!!

Some Mini Cards!

There is something about things that are little.....little babies, puppies, kittens, dollhouses, hamburgers....you get the idea! I had some scraps of paper and decided to use 'em up for mini cards! I used the Crafty Secret's Creative Scraps, which I LOVE because it makes cardmaking a snap! I paired these vibrant images with October Afternoon paper, ribbon, and of course......glitter.

This one, I used my "grass" scissors from Martha Stewart! (I don't think that is really their name, but that's what I am calling it!) It created this cool fringed border along the side of the card.
It is Thursday already and today my 5th graders are putting on their band concert for the school. They are ready for their summer break........as am I. It is hot and sticky in the classroom and trying to concentrate is getting more and more difficult. But the end is drawing nearer, a couple of more field trips, an awards ceremony, and summer will officially begin! : )

Graduations Galore!

Good morning to all of you! It has been a hot sticky few days here in Chicago! We have been getting our pool ready and have run into a few snags here and there. (Which is always a bit frustrating!) Monday I had a bit of an asthma attack and had to leave work. (No air conditioning.......and 24 hot sticky bodies in one room!) It is much better today, but it was a bit scary. I've never had one like that before, it has always been mild and well controlled. Doc gave me a script for a rescue inhaler just in case it happens again!

June is fast approaching and that means weddings and graduations! I created this little grad hat using the Cutting Cafe's template. I used Papertrey paper and October Afternoon's DP. I had to add glitter, a Prima flower, and the year cut with my Quickutz.
The card does open, but I had a hard time standing it up....it kept toppling over! : )
My 5th graders are taking a field trip to the junior high today. They are so nervous about making the transition. It seems like only yesterday, they were just walking into my classroom for the first time. It is amazing how they have become "my" children. I am extremely protective of them.......even when they drive me crazy! I will miss this class dearly. Such a great group of kids!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

A Typical Day Challenge.....

There is a new challenge over at the Noel Mignon Challenge Blog! We were to scrap about a typical day or week in our lives. Mind you, mine is nothing short of glamorous! ; ) I love this challenge and reminds me that this is the "stuff" my life is made of. Which I am perfectly content with! I used Noel's Lemonade Stand (5 left!) for this one........and a bit of Glimmer misting and some rubber stamps. (The coffee stain is by Cornish Heritage Farms. The letters.....not sure!)

Sometimes my husband thinks I am a permanent fixture at the ole' computer!
That is actually a picture of the school I work at in the left hand corner.......
My favorite pic is that of Kyle and I reading. He is 13, and still loves reading with me. We have been working through the entire Harry Potter series and we are actually on the very last book, with only about 30 pages to go. I thought maybe he would be done with me.....not want to read anymore, so I asked him what we should do when finished with Harry Potter. He replied, " We can start Lord of Rings next!" So I guess I will be reading to him until he's 20! (Which is perfectly ok with me!)
To see the other DT gals' LO's head on over HERE! And if you'd like to see sneaks of the newest kit called, Sun-Kissed head on over HERE! It goes up for sale on June 5th!
Heading to Robert Crown with my 5th graders today. It is always a fun day talking about puberty and the reproductive system. Heaven help me!
Have a great day!!!!!
