Joy on Easter Day....

Good mornng and happy Friday to you!!! I am so glad the weekend is here! My hubby and son are heading to a waterpark for a little "guys" weekend together. I love my husband for things like this. My son is 13 and life at 13 can be difficult........so having a dad who cares so much is really important! I will be spending the weekend with Cort. If the weather holds we will be taking many "walks" outside. Otherwise it will be a quiet weekend filled with some scrappy goodness......I hope!

I have an Easter card to share with you today. It uses the JustRite Favorite Occasions and Border's set. (FYI......all 1 5/8 stamps are on sale for 20% off!!!) I just love this little chick! I colored him in with Copics and added Crystal lacquer to his body. The background was airbrushed. I used this lovely lace frame from K & Company to use. I stamped the sentiment and cut it apart to accomodate the square frame. Paper is by October Afternoon. The yellow ric rac is by Martha Stewart.

I have been on a crystal lacquer craze lately........everything is crystal lacquered! : )
What are your plans for this weekend? Anything exciting?
Whatever you do.....have a great one!!!!! HUGS!

Fly

Good morning to you! I have a quick LO to share with you today! I've had these pictures of my son since last summer, of him skiing. He loves to ski! He started when he was about 4 and then took a few years off......due to some fears of falling in the water. But last summer he decided to give it a try......and popped right up! It was great to see him cruise around the lake because it gave him some much needed confidence. I used various bits and pieces from Noel Mignon's Blue Skies kit. (sold out) And since I have a pretty unhealthy obsession with glitter.....had to completely cover the Maya chipboard bird.....with you guessed it.......glitter! I included my journaling on the tags tucked behind my title.

Don't forget to check out Noel's newest kit, Sonoma County! It is going up for pre-order on Monday! It won't last long! : )
Hope you have a great Thursday!!!

CPS & JustRite

Happy Wednesday to all of you! I am feeling pretty great knowing that it is already the middle of the week, and my spring break is coming up in just a week and a half! The weather is getting a bit warmer too......low 50's.....that's like a freaking heat wave and I am loving it!!

So this week JustRite is sponsoring CPS. I love this week's sketch! I decided to use the star from, Just a Note Borders and Centers set. I colored it in with Copics, cut the star out, applied a thin layer of Crystal Effects and sprinkled Martha Stewart's chunky glitter over it. I stamped the star/sentiment again on cream Papertrey paper and adhered the colored star over it. I used my Spellbinder's star dies to cut out the 3 stars. While the brass template was in place, I airbrushed it with yellow. The other two stars were cut from vintage paper, and again Crystal Effects and glitter were applied. The paper is Melissa Frances, October Afternoon, and Papertrey Ink. The velvet ribbon is from Michaels.

I am so glad you stopped by! : )

Baby Kisses.....

This week the Noel Mignon Design Team is teaming up with Sketch Inspiration. Noel is offering a $40.00 gift certificate to her shop! Which is perfect timing, since the next kit, Sonoma County, is going up for pre-order next Monday. What do you have to do? Just become a member of Sketch Inspiration and create a LO using THIS sketch. (sketch #114)

On to my LO.....this is a picture of Cort giving kisses to her "baby" Gloria. Cort has never gotten attached to any dolls or stuffed animals until "Gloria," her Bitty Baby, came along. I don't have any idea how she got that name either. Not one person or family member is named Gloria. Gloria has an entire wardrobe, her own bed, high chair, and potty chair. Cort requests outfit changes, wants to put her on the potty chair, and brings her into the kitchen to "feed" her. It is pretty cute to watch her grab her by the leg, upside down, and drag her around place to place. When she hugs and kisses her dolly, I tell her what a good "Mommy" she is. (With a bit of a lump in my throat............if you KWIM.......)

I used Noel's Seaside Cottage and bits from the Object of my Affection kits, some vintage music paper, paint, and Glimmer Mist.

Have a wonderful day! As always, thank you for visiting.....it brings a smile to my face when you stop by!!! I LOVE reading your comments.....it's like a mini visit! : )

Monday, Monday.....

Is it seriously Monday already? I can't believe how fast the weekend flew by! Maybe it was because we were super busy on Saturday? Cort had her last cheerleading/basketball game. After the game we took her out to eat, came home and took her for a long walk. It was almost 50 degrees and sunny on Saturday! Sunday was a stay at home, get caught up on laundry, cook a nice Sunday dinner, kind of day. I made the most delicious homemade mac n cheese to go with our steaks! Anything with bleu cheese is a winner in my book! YUM!

Since I am pretty sure you didn't come here to find out what I had for dinner last night....... : ) Let's move on to my card shall we? LOL!

I used this adorable baby set from JustRite......unfortunately it is discontinued! Bummer! I have no idea why I was in the mood to make a baby card. I'm not having a baby. My sisters aren't having babies. I only know one person who is pregnant. Guess she'll be getting this card then! : )

I colored the shoes with my Copics, cut them out, applied Crystal Effects, and added teeny pearls to the buckles.

The sentiment was stamped with Brown Momento ink, cut out with my oval Spellbinders, and while the brass template was in place, I used my airbrush. I used a doilie for the background because it was soft enough not to compete with the image, but pretty enough to add some visual interest. As a finishing touch, I wrapped some Papertrey twine around the card, through the sentiment, and tied a button to it. I also added a tiny Prima flower with a pearl in its center.

Hope your Monday is a great one!!! : )
