My New Do!

So whadda think? Just a subtle change.........but I think I like it!

It's NOT Friday is it?

Normally, I am thrilled that it is Friday.......but not this week! It signals the end of my week long vacation......*sigh* I am off to have low lights put in my hair this morning. I've never colored my hair.....ever! So this is a bit exciting for me. What color you ask? I've decided on red. I am hoping I don't freak out when it's done!

I bought a new Cricut cartridge a couple of weeks ago called Wild Cards. It is such a fun cartridge to work with because there are so many fun shaped cards. One of them was this cute band aid. I simply cut it out of Kraft card stock and inked the edges. I used this cute little duck from the Crafty Secret's Feeling Yucky set. I colored him in with Copics and then cut him out. The tag was cut using my Nestibilities. Easy card to make........ : )

Would you believe that Kyle had his last basketball game last night and actually won it? This was a game to determine if his team would make it to the play offs. Why am I surprised by this win? His team has LOST EVERY game up until last night! EVERY game people! So now he will have an additional practice next week along with his first play off game. Kyle assured me that his team would lose because, "The players are as tall as Dad!" ..........Hey, ya never know.......stranger things have happened!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Is it Thursday Already?

Why is it that the week flies by when you're off, but moves at a snail's pace when at work? I can not believe it is Thursday already! Ugh! I have been so busy with catching up with friends and family that my crafty time has been minimal. I did manage, however, to play along with the challenge over at the Crafty Secret's forum at SCS. (Hosted by Marcy!) The challenge was to create a "Home" card. Easy enough! I pulled out Crafty Secret's Home Sweet Home set and got busy!

I colored this image in with my Copics. When I was done, I took an old wash cloth, wet it with my bottle of blending solution, and dabbed the grass, tree trunk, and house. I love this technique because it gives the image a little added texture. The paper is by K & Company. (Wild Raspberry) I added a Cuttlebugged panel. My new love has been browsing the floral dept at Michaels for silk flowers to use for scrapbooking and cardmaking. I just remove the green plastic center and add a button, jute, and this time a Prima leaf behind it!

Off again today to see some girlfriends! Lunch and shopping! It doesn't get any better than that! : )
Thank you so much for your kind comments on yesterday's LO. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to post it. I was afraid it was too raw.......negative in a way. Thank you for letting me share it...... HUGS to you all! : )

I Dream......

The thing I love about scrapbooking is that it captures not only pictures at that very moment you snap the camera, but the emotions that go with it. I have many beautiful pictures of my kids. But sometimes the pictures are more than just a picture snapped at their birthday party or at a holiday function. Sometimes they stir emotions inside of us. As you already know, Cort is mentally and physically challenged, and as much as I adore her, there is still a part of me that wonders what kind of a person she would have been if she weren't disabled. I can't help myself sometimes. So rather than denying those feelings, I scrapped them.

Journaling reads:
I dream of the girl that should have been. When I allow myself to. It is painful to go there, and I don' t often. I wonder if she would have been athletic, an actress, or on the honor roll? Would she be constantly connected to her cell phone like most girls her age? Would she be graceful? Would she be confident? Would she be interested in boys already? Would she be as happy as she is right now? When I look at the smiling face, I dream of what could have been..........but wasn't.

Spring.....

Happy Tuesday everyone! I have a few things to share with you today! The first item on the list is my scrappy LO. I created it for this week's Bitten by the Bug challenge. We were to use the Spring cut from the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. I also used Noel Mignon's newest kit called Lovely Days. These are my two celebrating Easter last year at their grandparent's house.

I was tagged by Gabi a couple of days ago to post a picture from the 6th folder, 6th picture. This is it!

Yep, that's my son picking out pumpkin seeds with pink rubber gloves.....and polka dots. He is VERY secure in his masculinity! LOL!
And last but not least, Just Rite is giving away some pretty awesome blog candy! Go HERE for a chance to win! Have you seen their new products? Can you say, CUTE? One is cuter than the next!
***Had a nice first day off! Spent some time with my mom, called my Grandma, cooked a home cooked meal.....watched TV with my family. What's on the agenda tomorrow? Possibly a visit with my MIL. Maybe lunch....stamping...we'll have to see!
HAVE a GREAT day!!!!!

Crafty Secrets & Tattered Angels!

This is the final week of our March Mix of Crafty Secrets and Tattered Angels! It has been so fun combining these two great companies! I decided to use Crafty Secret's newest product called "Creative Scraps." They are gorgeous images that are geared towards cardmakers! I chose this sunflower image because those large beautiful flowers just make me smile. I sprayed it with Pearl Glimmer Mist and then used Crystal effects for the centers.

The faux wooden panel behind it was done with SU! Creamy Caramel cardstock, swiped with white ink, then swiped again with brown ink. I distressed the edges a bit. I added some vintage book paper behind that, some twine, a button, and a silk leaf.

From this angle you can really see the sparkle the Glimmer Mist gives the card! See the Crystal Effects?
Make sure you check out the other outrageously talented girls from the Crafty Secrets and Tattered Angels DT! And scroll down a bit to hop on over to the Crafty Secret's blog and Tattered Angels blog for some free giveaways!!!!

I am off this week and am having me some girl time with my mom today! A little lunch..... a little shopping! Have a great Monday!!!
