Chocaholic!

I don't know about you, but I seem to throw NOTHING away these days! I look at everything as a possible "alterable!" So now I have a basement filled with things I'm gonna alter......: ) I decided instead of just storing them downstairs, I am going to actually USE them! Woohooo! I pulled out a Bath & Body glass jar and decided to make a candy jar out of it.

I pulled out my Crafty Secret's Sweet Stuff set. I stamped the images, colored them with Copics and cut them out. I added Crystal lacquer for dimension. The top of the jar is old corrugated cardboard. (Yep, save that too!) I ripped the top layer off to show the "ribs." I swiped it a bit with white paint. I cut a cream felt circle and added that to the top as well. I layered the images, a bow threaded with a SU! button.

I painted the lid white and dipped it in glitter. I found this gingham ribbon that worked perfectly.....and it covered up the Bath & Body logo!
Happy Friday! I am going out on a "date" with hubby tomorrow night! It is long overdue, and apparently he has a surprise for me. I can't wait to see where he is taking me!
Thanks for visiting and have a GREAT weekend!!!! : )

Funny Thing About Joy.....

It's time again for a new challenge over at Noel Mignon's blog! One of our DT members came across this awesome site called Curly Girl. They have the most fantastic quotes and sayings there! I chose this one for my sweet niece, Katie.

She had just gotten a new toy, and wasn't sure if she should be scared of it or laugh at it! Eventually.....she chose the later. I used Noel's newest kit, Nightingale. (Which is selling like hotcakes....so if you want one, better grab one quick!) I also pulled out all my alphabet rubber stamps that haven't seen ink in ages!!!

On a personal note......my VAN needs to go back to the shop. Can you even believe that? Sunday, Cort and I got stranded because......I ran out of gas! Now before you laugh at me and call me cruel names, (LOL) the reason I ran out of gas, is my gas gauge broke! So of course I didn't KNOW I was out of gas! The van had to be towed and now it needs to be fixed. Have I mentioned how much I HATE this van? UGH!
Anyway, enough complaining....... : )

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Monogram Challenge

This week's Bitten by the Bug, challenge was to create a monogram card using the letter B off of the Alphlicious cartridge. For me, the obvious choice was to make a baby card. I have been cleaning out my scrap room for the last couple of days.......and came across this sweet paper by Daisy D's and Making Memories. (MM is the white eyelet paper.)

I distressed the edges and adhered to the front of the card. I created a bow with some vintage ribbon, crocheted flower, button, and glittered wing. The sentiment is by Papertrey. Head on over to the BBTB site, and see the other DT gal's work!

Happy Hump Day!!!

Jr. Jordans

I just got Cort's professional cheer leading picture and HAD to scrap it right away! It was such a nice picture of her! (I know.....I AM a bit biased!) I used Noel Mignon's newest kit, Nightingale. I had so many pretty reds and browns in the kit that I knew it would be perfect! The only items not in the kit were the lace and of course the Jr. Jordan's title. (I cut from the Special Olympics program). I just went crazy with layers and embellishments. I used Tim Holtz distress stickles for the swirls and the center of the buttons. (Also included in the kit!)

I love that Noel always throws some vintage inspired items! It is so up my alley! The kit is selling fast.......so ya better hurry if you are thinking of getting one!
Back to school for me today........after 4 days off. I know I am not getting any sympathy from you..........just sayin.' : ) : )

Crafty Secret's Spring Challenge!

I think by now everyone is pretty tired of winter! I know I am! So Sandy, at Crafty Secrets, issued us gals a challenge to create a Spring themed card. I used the new Garden Girls set. (It will be available soon!) I colored her in with my Prismas and Gamsol. (Haven't used those in awhile! Since the whole Copics craze!) I used a paper doily behind the image. The paper is Melissa Frances and SU! I also added a crocheted flower, button, and brad.

You have to check out the other gal's Spring projects! They will knock your socks off!!!
